Chapter FourThe final meeting

As Mowgli was growing up, he noticed something strange.1

None of the animals could look him in the eyes.

But he did not understand why.

He was a friend of all the animals except Shere Khan.

Shere Khan knew the leader of the Wolf Pack, Akela, was now very old.2

He was telling the younger wolves that Mowgli should not be living here.3
