Robin Hood
Robin Hood means “Robert wearing a hood.” He was a legendary English outlaw who lived in the 12th century. But some believe that he really existed and was Robert Fitzooth, a knight in Huntington.
The story of Robin Hood was handed down orally and began to appear as a literary work in the 14th century. The Ballad of the Adventures of Robin Hood in the 15th century contained the basic outline of the tale that is told today.
Afterwards, some writers recounted the legend of Robin Hood, but the most widely read tale in general is the book The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood written by Howard Pyle, an American author, in 1883.
The reason that Robin Hood’s popularity has lasted almost one thousand years is primarily because of his habit of robbing the rich to aid the poor. The tale includes lots of humor since the characters in the story all have comical natures. The moral and philosophical values of Robin Hood are timeless attractions for men and woman of all ages. His sense of justice causes him to risk his life in order to rescue one of his men who had gotten caught. He never harms honest men and women. He has a cheerful view of life thanks to his love of nature and aestheticism.
